The Birmingham Public Library is Hosting Tech Tuesdays, Beginning in March and Going Through May

March 10, 2008, Birmingham, AL—Do you ever get that not so technologically hip feeling? You’re not alone. Technology is moving at a break neck pace and it is difficult to stay informed about what is happening.

The good news is that the staff at the Birmingham Public Library has teamed together to create a series of programs that will show you how to use some of this new technology. Classes will show the public how to use instant messaging, how to use a digital camera and then what to do with the pictures you take, how to create your own blog, and social networking for parents.

These technological services and resources are called social software and they need not be the “I’m clueless” in your life. The library wants to define what each of them is and how these resources can help you. We also want to show you how to use them. Each class in Tech Tuesdays will focus on a different subject.

These programs will be available at the Central Library Arrington Auditorium, Springville Road Regional Library, or Five Points West Regional Library. Four of the programs will be live at the Central Library and two will be live at other locations. Check the schedule below for the location of the live broadcast. The other locations will have a simulcast of the program. Take advantage of not having to travel so far to get great information and a free class.
